The plan is there is no plan

We started our 2nd venture in to homeschooling on August 26th.

The past two weeks, I have planned out our days, not really rigidly, but there was a guideline of what we should be accomplishing each day. I am basically writing both of their science curriculums myself (with the help of Lessonpathways.com) so I NEED A PLAN.  But then late last week, it dawned on me, the amount of time I put into planning was comparable to Thanksgiving dinner... 18 hours of cooking for 30 minutes of eating.  I was putting in about 15 hours a week for planning, and each day's worth of lessons was taking around 3 hours...  I mean, really it's a wash... but still seems like a lesson in futility.

So this week, I didn't plan.  I admit, my type A self is going absolutely batshit crazy.  I think my 6 year old needs the structure, she doesn't want to do ANYTHING, EVER.  My 9 year old seems to be plugging away (Gosh, I Love 4th grade), and the three (almost 4 year old) is in front of the electronic babysitter.
